How the HFC-125™ Gas Fire Suppression System Works
Fire Detection

The first step in the HFC-125™ gas suppression system is early fire detection. When fire detection sensors (smoke, heat, or flame detectors) identify fire indications in the environment, the system automatically activates, triggering the suppression process.

HFC-125™ Gas Distribution
  • After fire detection, HFC-125™ gas is discharged from high-pressure cylinders and delivered to the fire zone through a piping network.
  • The gas is stored in liquid form within cylinders and directed to the fire area.
  • Nozzles or spray heads ensure rapid and efficient gas distribution throughout the fire zone.
Reduction of Oxygen Levels
  • HFC-125™ gas reacts with the oxygen in the fire zone, significantly lowering oxygen levels.
  • By replacing the oxygen necessary for combustion, it prevents the fire from sustaining itself.
  • The system reduces the oxygen level to approximately 15-16%, effectively stopping the fire.
