FK 5-1-12 (Novec 1230) Suppression System

FK 5-1-12 (Novec 1230) Suppression System

Key Advantages

Rapid Response: FK 5-1-12 gas detects the fire at its onset and extinguishes it within seconds.
Environmentally Friendly: Extremely low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and no harm to the ozone layer.
No Chemical Residue: Safe for sensitive equipment and requires no cleanup.
Human Safety: Non-toxic and maintains a safe environment for people.
Wide Range of Applications: Ideal for data centers, telecommunications rooms, museums, archives, and laboratories.

How the FK 5-1-12 Gas Fire Suppression System Works

Fire Detection

The system detects fire at an early stage through sensors or detectors that monitor signs of fire, such as smoke, temperature increase, or flames. Once a fire is detected, the system is activated, and the fire suppression process begins.

Agent Discharge

FK 5-1-12 (Novec 1230) gas is stored in high-pressure cylinders. When a fire starts, the gas is released through a piping network into the affected area.

  • Stored as a liquid, FK 5-1-12 rapidly transforms into gas upon discharge, dispersing into the fire zone.
  • Even and rapid distribution occurs through nozzles or discharge heads within the system.

Fire Suppression

Novec 1230 gas effectively extinguishes fire using two key mechanisms:
Heat Absorption: The gas rapidly lowers the temperature of the fire, preventing the flames from spreading.
Chemical Reaction Interruption: Novec 1230 neutralizes free radicals (oxygen and other elements) involved in combustion, cutting off the fire’s fuel source.

Fire Suffocation & Control

The FK 5-1-12 gas suffocates the fire and prevents it from reigniting. Unlike other suppression methods, it does not reduce oxygen levels in the room, ensuring human safety.

  • The oxygen level at the fire’s source is lowered just enough to prevent combustion, completely extinguishing the fire.

Aftermath & Long-Term Protection

After effective suppression, FK 5-1-12 gas leaves no chemical residue and requires no cleanup.
✔️ Protects sensitive electronics and valuable equipment.
✔️ No moisture or residue is left in the environment.
